I rarely watch daytime TV (usually at work), but I was home on April 5th and just happened to have the TV on and Dr. OZ had Dr. Sanjay Gupta as his guest; I think this episode originally aired on Jan. 15, 2013.

On the topic of secrets to a long life, Dr. Sanjay Gupta share that he drinks a creamy cup of turmeric tea every night to help calm his nerves, but the benefits of this colorful drink don’t end there: A recent study suggests that curcumin, a brain-boosting chemical in turmeric, could help slow the progression of Alzheimer’s by helping hippocampal brain cells grow.

I just tried this and it tastes pretty good, even without honey (didn’t have any on hand);
Here’s the recipe;
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp honey
- 1/4 tsp ginger
Directions: Heat the almond milk in a microwave (or on stove-top), stir in the spices and drizzle the honey on top. Enjoy!
